Storing Holiday Decorations: Holiday lights

When storing your light strands properly, getting them out can be a breeze. If stored improperly, they can be broken or damaged in storage or as you are pulling them out of storage. Here are a few suggestions for easy ways to store Holiday lights properly. 

•  Only store lights with lights.  Don’t store any other items with your lights
• Wrap each set of lights individually using a paper towel roll or plastic light reel
• Tie each set with breads ties & put each set of lights into a separate plastic bag.  Label each bag (Living room window, Christmas tree lights 1 of 3, outside brushes, etc)
• OR Buy Christmas tree light storage containers. Containers are available to hold each strand of lights separately
• Label the storage container & store away
