Storing Holiday Decorations: Label and organize

There is a difference between storing & organizing.  You can store things but still not be able to find anything.  If you organize your things it will be a breeze to decorate next season.  Store all your holiday items together by season.  For example, store all your Christmas decorations together in the same space.  If you have small items that are part of a set make sure to store them in a bag or zip lock so that you don't have to dig for a piece of a set.

Label ALL totes, bins, bags etc.  If you storage your holiday items by room then label them accordingly.  Then, when the next holiday comes around you'll have everything you need for each room already gathered together.  Make sure to store all of your "Tree timming" items in the same storage container. 

By the time the holiday is over, putting the decorations away becomes a dreaded chore. If you just make an effort to put in the time to do it right, it will make decorating the next year more enjoyable.
