Variable expenses are all the other types of expenses that you may make in with each payroll period. They will include your groceries, clothing, gas, entertainment and any unexpected surprises that may come up. Estimate an amount for these variable expenses. If there’s not enough money for your variable expenses then you will need to cut back. After a few payroll periods you will get a feel for what a more realistic amount should be.
