Gifts are supposed to be meant to make you happy -- correct? What if you already had too much to begin with? What is you don't like the item someone gave you? Now all of those new presents don't seem to make you so happy anymore -- do they? Clutter will not make you happy. It will stress you out, as well as, cost you time and money.
Hanging onto an unnecessary gift just because your favorite aunt gave it to you, just doesn't make sense. So what should you do?
- Return or exchange any unwanted gifts to the store if you can.
- Regift your unwanted gift(s). There is nothing wrong with regifting. Give your item to someone who really wants or needs the item you received.
Will you have a time when the giver will expect to see the item in use or displayed around your house?
- Tell them the item accidentally broke
- Tell them you accidentally stained the item
Don't let those unwanted items (and sometimes down right ugly items) take up any prime real estate in your house!
