Simplify Your Life ~ Focus on doing, not on spending

Without realizing it we send messages to our kids about how to live life, base on what we do.  We shop, eat out, go to the zoo, go to the movies, so our kids learns that having fun means spending money.  We tend to focus on material things, so therefore they do too.  Instead, try teaching them that doing stuff together is more important then buying stuff.  Don't just tell them, also show them by your actions.  Go for walks in the park, play at a local playground (visit a new one every week, kids LOVE this), play outdoors, play board games or card games, read together, do chores together, go to the beach or wash the car together.  Spend quality time together, doing stuff that doesn't cost money.

Happy non-spending!
