Today is Christmas Card Day

Today is a good day to send out your Christmas cards and holiday greetings.  If you have yet to do so, use today to get a start.

Writing out Christmas cards doesn't have to be stressful.  First you need to gather all the things necessary to mail out your Christmas cards. This includes things like pencils, pens, Christmas cards, stamps, address labels, and your Christmas card list from last year.  Don't have a Christmas card list from last year?  No worries, make sure to keep this year's list so that writing out you Christmas cards will be a breeze next year.  Review last year's list & then create a new list for this year.  One of the ways to keep track of your Christmas card list is to save it on your computer.

Break down this task into a few phases.  Maybe first address all the Christmas card envelopes.  Then place all the return labels and stamps on the envelopes.  Then lastly, compare make sure you didn't miss everyone.

You might want to keep your Christmas card list close by the cards that you receive this year. I have a hanging Christmas card holder & in the bottom pocket I have the remaining blank Christmas cards.  This way if you want to write someone a card back, that wasn't on your list, your supplies are right there and ready to go.  Remember to also add them to your Christmas card list so you don't miss them next year.  You can also keep updating your list throughout the season.  This is easy if you have your Christmas card list saved on your computer.  Save your 2010 file as 2011 so that your have a list already started for next year.

Gear up for next year.  Print out your Christmas card list & pack it away with your Christmas decorations.  Make sure to keep all your Christmas card writing items together in a bag or small storage container when you pack them away.  I also suggest buying your Christmas cards right after Christmas.  Why?  You can get card 50%-90% off that's why!  Buy at least the same number of cards that you mailed out this year plus a few more.  Then next year, everything is together & writing your Christmas cards won't seem like such a chore.
